Meaning 2 - Blog Exercise: Interactions Between the 3 Levels

This is an image that I have made several months ago inspired by the "vector" style.

Representational: This image shows a landscape scene containing land, trees, the sky and clouds. The image is mono-toned and contains different hues of blue. There are also some vector shapes in a lighter tone in the background to contrast the negative space. At the bottom, the paint splats make the image look as though it were a floating piece of land. This relates to the other two levels since it holds some "real" and "unreal" elements.

Abstract: This image does not show specifics of a tree like its texture. Only the outline or silhouettes are shown to allow the user/viewer to use their own imagination. Even the land is limited to several shades only and no no other detail are shown. This allows the viewer to see the image as a whole rather than having to focus on each element of the image

Symbolic: The clouds in the image creates one of several meanings. One may be that the image is creating a mysterious atmosphere. The user/viewer can look at these clouds and think they are fog since the clouds reached as close as the land. Another may be that the image is just as it is: a cloudy day. The overall image looks as though this is a floating piece of land and it may symbolize a magical land (backed by the elements in the background). The image emits a mysterious vibe since it is blue with swirls in the background. If this image were a different color, it may emit a different tone to the overall image and blue creates a calm mood.
