This image is an example of Top-Down Processing because it requires the viewer to see this image as a shoe. However, with each section cut off and separated from the other by a grey background, different color and size of the shoe, the viewer must process this image from left to right. The viewer can first identify this image as a shoe while looking at it as a whole but as they look at each section separately, they will notice that each section that has been isolated represents a specific amount of detail. Each section is separated by a grey background, size and a different color for each section. Although the sizes are different, the viewer can quickly adjust their eyes to see that as a whole, it represents a shoe. To be more specific, the viewer can shift their eyes to the letters at the top and by looking at each letter left to right, they can figure out that it spells "Converse," a shoe brand. Not only that but the viewer is also able to understand that each color of the cut-off sections represent a type of shoe color that "Converse" has and this variety of colors will definitely catch attention of viewers.
